On Sunday 6th August, the 5 Parishes get together to put on our 85th Show to entertain members of the local community and many from further afield.
Again the Medieval Combat Society will set up camp and their dismounted Knights will engage in combat, demonstrate long-bow archery and their Ladies will dance for you. Annies Fantasies return to give displays of Clog Dancing. The Tendring Dog Agility team will amuse and amaze with their entertaining antics. The Colchester Birds of Prey will swoop over the ring once again. East Anglia Kite Flyers will provide a colourful aerial background and will even drop sweets for the children. The machines from the Colchester Model Aircraft Club will fly over the Show and their model helicopters will perform in the ring.
Musically, we have two exciting new events, the Funky Voices Choir and Crissy Lee with her drummers. The Colne Endeavour Music Club Band will be playing outside the ring.
New to the Show, Pedal Power vs Parkour will excite everyone with athletic and competitive displays between BMX and Trials Bikes against Parkour performers in the ring. The Essex Land Rover Club will be offering rides over their special course in the showground and the Triumph Car Club will be showing their immaculate vehicles in and near to the ring. Dog owners can take part in the Musical Bales Game in the ring – this is to be earlier this year and starts at 11.30; visitors can also practice their table tennis skills and take part in spinning and weaving. In the main marquee there will be displays including flowers, flower arrangements, fruit and vegetables, home industries, photography etc – have a look at the Schedule and start preparing your entries! There will be experts in the marquee to discuss the skills.
As always there will be a Horse Show; keen riders will already have entered. The Dog Show accepts entries from 11 am. Spectators are welcome to both these Shows.
There is a licenced Bar where visitors can relax with Pimms, beer, wine or other drinks. As usual there is plenty to see and do in all the stalls with plenty of activities for children.
