Changes to the 2026 show
Horse Show
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Horse Show at this year’s 5 Parishes Summer Show. We know this will be disappointing news for many of you, and we’re truly sorry.
A combination of factors led to this decision: the ground conditions are not suitable, high temperatures are forecast for the week ahead with no rain expected, entries have been much lower than usual, and sadly one of our judges has had to withdraw due to a back injury. All entry fees will be refunded over the next day or so.
Birds of Prey
Sadly, our lovely birds of prey, brought to the show by K&H Falconry in Hampshire, are unable to join us this year because of the extreme heat. It is not possible to transport the birds in this weather and keep them safe, so it is with great regret that they have decided not to attend. We completely understand, as the welfare of these beautiful creatures must come first.
We want to reassure everyone that the main show on 2nd August is absolutely still going ahead, and we can’t wait to welcome you all for what promises to be a wonderful day. There’s plenty to see and do — we hope you’ll still join us!
Photographer and Videographer Notice
Official photographer and videographer will be present on the show ground taking photographs and videos for promotional and pubility purposes. If you do not consent to your images being used in future publicity material, please inform the photographer and videographer on site.

Our History
The show has been a longstanding feature of the community, made up of the five parishes of Abberton, Langenhoe, Peldon, Great and Little Wigborough for over 90 years. Starting as a horticultural show to allow local agricultural workers to show off their prize produce, it has developed into a country show with horticultural, domestic and children’s competitions, commercial and charity stalls, all day main ring entertainment and plenty of food and drink.
